Unconfined!

Born on a starry night, you were a lion cub.
Born to rule the jungle and lead others.

Unlike a usual cub born to rule and hunt,
you were loving and caring.

The wolves, pythons, and others were scared,
and they conspired.

Banished from your tribe, you had to wander.
You wandered all your childhood and youth.

Seasons changed, leaves weathered,
yet you kept looking for yourself.

At times of storm and rain, you took shelter,
in caves and under banyans.

Yet you didn’t confine yourself into a comfort.

A season came with thunderstorms,
that lasted for long.

You ran into a cave, filled with darkness.
And you found your beauty in the cave!

Outside the cave, you saw the rage of nature.
And you found your peace inside you!

The storm stopped and you came out,
a fearless king reborn to dwell solo, unconfined!

There is no specific story behind this poem but the life experiences that helped me break the confinements through struggles and pain.
